Locksmith Pricing - Free Quote, No Hidden Fees

We always confirm your quote before any work begins - no hidden fees, no surprises.

Every job is different, so we give you a clear, fixed quote over the phone before sending an engineer. Call us for a free, no-obligation quote any time, day or night.

How quoting works

A fixed quote before any work begins

We don't publish a price list because locksmith work depends on factors that only become clear once we understand the situation. Instead, we ask a few short questions on the phone - what type of lock, what type of door, what has actually gone wrong - and give you a fixed price range based on that conversation. When the engineer arrives, they confirm the diagnosis in person and agree the final price with you before any work starts. Nothing begins until you say yes.

That approach protects you from a common trap: a cheap headline price that balloons on arrival. Because we agree the full price with you before any work starts, the figure you approve is the figure you pay.

What affects the quote

Factors we consider before quoting

Three things drive the final figure: the lock, the door, and the situation. A standard Yale-style nightlatch on an unobstructed timber door is straightforward. A multi-point uPVC mechanism with a seized gearbox, a snapped key deep in the cylinder, or a British Standard BS3621 replacement is more involved. The factors below are what our dispatcher asks about on the first call.

Lock type

Nightlatch, deadlock, mortice, Euro cylinder, multi-point uPVC, smart lock, or a commercial mechanism - each takes different tools and time.

Door type & condition

Timber, composite, uPVC, aluminium or metal. A misaligned or swollen door adds work beyond the lock itself.

What has happened

Lockout, snapped key, lost key, burglary damage, worn mechanism, or a planned upgrade. Emergency entry is different from a scheduled lock change.

Parts required

If a replacement cylinder, gearbox or full lock is needed, the exact part affects the price. We source British Standard kit where relevant.

Access & location

Travel distance within our coverage area and how quickly the nearest engineer can be on site.

Security standard

Upgrading to insurance-approved BS3621 or anti-snap cylinders costs more in parts but often pays back through insurer discounts.

No hidden fees

What is always included

  • Fixed price agreed in advance. The number we tell you is the number you pay.
  • 180-day warranty on parts and labour for every installation or repair.
  • Fully insured, DBS-checked engineers carrying photo ID on every job.
  • All major card payments accepted on site, plus Revolut.
The process

How a callout works, step by step

1

You call

We ask about the lock, the door and what has happened. You get a clear price range on the phone, not a vague "we'll see when we get there".

2

Engineer arrives

The nearest DBS-checked engineer heads to you - average 19 minutes in London. They inspect the lock and confirm the fixed price before touching anything.

3

Work & warranty

Once you approve, we complete the job, test the mechanism, tidy up and leave you with a 180-day warranty. Payment is taken on site by card.

Common questions

Pricing FAQ

Why don't you list prices on the website?

Because a fixed price list would mislead customers. The same "lock change" can mean a £ basic cylinder swap or a full BS3621 deadlock replacement on a warped timber door - very different jobs. A real quote takes 60 seconds on the phone and is far more accurate than any static price table.

How is the price confirmed before work starts?

We give you a fixed price range on the phone, and the engineer confirms the final price in person before any work begins. You approve the cost before anything is carried out.

How do you handle payment?

Payment is taken on site once the job is finished. We accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as Revolut. No cash-only pressure, no upfront deposits for standard callouts.

What if the job turns out to be bigger than expected?

If the engineer finds something the phone call could not reveal - a seized gearbox behind what looked like a cylinder issue, for example - they stop and agree a revised fixed price with you before continuing. You stay in control of the cost the whole way through.

Is the warranty written down?

Yes. Every installation and repair comes with a 180-day warranty on parts and labour, documented on your invoice. If something covered by the warranty fails, we return and fix it at no extra charge.
